What We Do
Our Mission: connecting neighbors with craft and literature
We help form inter-generational circles that meet regularly, learning their craft from a skilled artisan, while listening to stories read aloud. Our goal is the long-term support of these groups, as we believe this engagement creates stable environments for people to truly get to know each other, learn a useful skill and deeply explore ideas together. We’ve found that these activities strengthen people beyond the skills themselves, helping them face challenges with hope and resiliency
LitKnit has provided a wonderful opportunity for my daughter to explore her craftiness and learn knitting, as well as find community and companionship.
We love what LitKnit has done for us. When I’m feeling frustrated, irritated or angry I pick up my needles and go to my happy place. When I can sense my son is having a hard time I hand him his needles and tell him to escape - Thank you so much, LitKnit for giving us a calm happy place!
