It was a small circle last week... until... we had a surprise guest show up!
Anna read to us from The Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling. She did such a good job, thanks for reading, Anna!
Ananya learned to purl and is practicing by knitting a strap for her bag. Good job, Ananya!
Brenna was a quick learner!
Brenna, from East Side Neighborhood Services, joined us as a guest at last week's American Craft Council LitKnit Circle. East Side is looking into starting a LitKnit circle in their neighborhood and Brenna visited so that she could experience what a LitKnit circle is. We even taught her to knit while she was with us! It was so nice to have you, thank you for coming, Brenna!
Wednesday nights are full of silliness and coziness at the Monroe Street Circle. Samia keeps us all in 'stitches!' (groan, I know, bad pun)
We see this all the time and it always makes me happy - seeing a participant use their newly finished piece. :)
What a great day we had at the Holiday Craft Hop on Saturday! The event was a smashing success. We were meeting and making knitted items with people all day. I am continually amazed at how easily and quickly people who do not know each other can connect when they work on something together. We will share more pictures through the week! Keep an eye out!
Samia has participated in the Monroe Street Circle for a little over 3 years! She has progressed in knitting, as she tells you. Besides the knit stitch, she's learned to purl and rib and made a hat. Samia is the comedian of the circle and loves to make us all laugh. Thank you, Samia, for years of enjoyment teaching you to knit! :)
